The Immokalee Business Development Center is hosting a 6-weeks Entrepreneur School workshop designed to provide an approach for thinking through the development of a new business idea or the growth of an existing small business.
The Immokalee Business Development Center is sponsoring a computer basics "Hands on Training" workshop. This workshop is geared towards beginners. Attendees will learn Internet Basics, Email Basics and Word Basics.
The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) will host a workshop to help small businesses in the area. It's a Brown Bag Event. Pack your lunch and come join us for this informative workshop.

"Nearly three years old, the center has helped start and grow more than a dozen small businesses in Immokalee," reads the Daily News piece.
"The goal is to expand its reach as a 501(c)(3), a charity designation it hopes to get from the IRS by the end of the year.
Operating as an extension of the county has made it difficult for the center to get grants, loans, or other financial help to fund its programs because contributors couldn’t get tax write-offs, Capita said.
The center, sometimes also known as IMMBIZ, is in the process of becoming its own non-profit organization, graduating from the nurturing nest of the Immokalee Community Redevelopment Agency.
The IBDC has guided the creation or expansion of over a dozen Immokalee businesses in the past two years. Collier County Commissioners, sitting as the Immokalee CRA board of directors, approved independence for the center in January. The lawmakers approved May 28 its formal plan strike out on its own.
In an effort to help local businesses obtain County contracts, the Immokalee Lighting and Beautification MSTU is dividing the maintenance contract into different components. The Immokalee Beautification MSTU manage the maintenance of all public area along Main Street (SR 29) and 1st Street (CR 846) within the limits of Immokalee Urban Area.

Launched just over two years ago by the Immokalee Community Redevelopment Agency, the IBDC (or IMMBIZ, as it's sometimes called), will become it's own independent non-profit organization over the next six months. The Collier County Commission approved the move January 24th.
